Happy New Year everyone! Yes I’m a little late to the party however it has taken me a couple of weeks to decide what I actually wanted to achieve this year and I didn’t want to write my first post back until I was ready.
For the last month I’ve been making some changes including separating my fashion styling website (my job) from my blog. This way I can keep things professional but also post things suitable for what you actually want to see. So if you haven’t noticed already – Welcome to my new blog.
For my first post on my new page I’ve decided to share with you guys some of my goals for 2018, which you may even find relevant to yourselves. I took my time in carefully thinking where I wanted to be next year and how I could achieve that. So here goes…
Firstly, I really want to focus on my blog this year. Recently I’ve neglected it after continually doubting myself and finding other excuses to keep me distracted however this is the year I’m going to have a proper go at it because you really never know what you can achieve. For anyone who has any interest in starting a blog but doesn’t want to put themselves out there or doesn’t think they can do it, we have all felt that way at some point. I myself continually questioned ‘What makes me different from anyone else?’ but you’re you, no one else is the same so my best advice is really to just go for it!
My second goal is probably very similar to one of yours if you have set goals for the year – to get a body I’m happy with. I’ve always struggled to keep weight on, especially the last few years, therefore haven’t wanted to exercise just incase I lost more weight. And yes I’ve already heard it all, “I wish I had that problem” but really you don’t. This goal I find people tend to have to high expectations therefore I wanted to make sure I was being realistic when I set it because if I turned round and said ‘I must go to the gym 5 times a week and eat super healthy’ it was never going to happen. Therefore I am aiming to exercise a few times a week and increase my food intake but include healthier options – this seems more achievable.
My third goal is to read a one book a month. I used to love reading as a child but after I was introduced to Netflix, well I think we all know… The reason I’ve decided to make this as one of my goals is because I really do believe you never stop learning. I plan on reading non-fiction books to hopefully learn a little something but also help my vocabulary and terrible grammar. So we shall see how that works out.
And lastly, this is the most important goal that I hope everyone aims to achieve – Happiness! Over the last few years I can honestly say I haven’t been happy. I’ve let other people around me affect my happiness and thought I needed other people to make me feel good when really the only person who can truly make you happy is yourself. About time I realized! So I’ve finally decided to cut out any negativity in my life and only see the good in situations. There really is no better feeling than being truly happy, so if you haven’t already, make this one of your goals this year!
